Contemporary Indian artist Kandi Narsimlu’s paintings depict rural life in Telangana with a modern twist. His artwork features wide-eyed, slender and sensual women, as well as smart, sharp, and serious men, all adorned with vibrant, colorful clothing that showcases the visual richness of rural India.
In many of Kandi Narsimlu’s pieces, figures are depicted with green or blue skin, symbolizing the local village’s deity, known as ‘gram Devta’. The surfaces of his paintings are smooth, flat, and intricately detailed, reflecting the simplicity and ornate beauty of traditional village life.
Narsimlu holds an MFA from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University in Hyderabad and has received a gold medal from the Hyderabad Art Society in 2011. His works have been featured in numerous individual and group exhibitions across India and are held in various private and public collections, including at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
Narsimlu also accepts requests for custom paintings tailored to individual preferences regarding size, color palette, and other details. His paintings can be purchased online or viewed at the gallery in Palo Alto (San Francisco Bay Area), all of which are hand-signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
