Rini Dhumal was born in 1948 in Rongpur in Bangladesh. In 1972, she acquired her Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) degree from M.S. University, Baroda. She has held a number of solo and group exhibitions in India and overseas such as The United States, Madrid-Spain, Frankfurt-Germany etc. Her expressionistic work, very much inclined to indigenous roots, conveys apprehension for human relationships and dialogues. She also paints goddesses with more vigor and expression on a toned down visual surfaces.
