Born in Calcutta in 1967, Ajay De is a graduate of the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata, and a postgraduate of the Sir JJ School of Art in Mumbai. He has held a numerous solo shows in Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Tokyo and Dubai. He has also taken part in several group shows in New York, Mumbai, Dubai and New Delhi. His nostalgia reflects in his effectively rendered human physiognomies. The compositions are inherent reactions, policing the complexities and plight of the disorientated modern day society.
