Artist Profile

Vishwanthan iyer

Shilpa Viswanathan Iyer

Art, for me, is an intimate journey—a medium through which I convey emotions, memories, and connections that words often fail to capture. My creative process is deeply rooted in mindfulness and meditation, enabling me to explore the beauty of nature and the wisdom it imparts. Through my artwork, I aspire to evoke a sense of reflection, tranquility, and appreciation for the world around us.

I am honored to have exhibited my work at international art fairs across New York, London, Paris (Louvre), Florence, Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai, and Delhi. Each exhibition has been a valuable learning experience, fostering my growth as an artist and allowing me to connect with individuals who resonate with my work. I draw inspiration from the intricate patterns of nature—whether the rings of a tree trunk, the fluidity of water, or the gentle descent of leaves. These elements symbolize the passage of time, the resilience of life, and the interconnectedness of all things.

Some of my notable works, such as Mata, Pita, Guru & Deva, exhibited at the Louvre, and Elder Leaves in Tree Trunk Slice, a finalist at the Dubai Global Art Awards, have received critical acclaim. While these recognitions are encouraging, my true fulfillment lies in witnessing how my art resonates with others in ways I could never anticipate.

Beyond creating, I am passionate about sharing my love for art through teaching and mentorship. Over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding students in their artistic journeys, and nothing brings me greater joy than witnessing them develop their unique creative voices.

At its essence, my work is about connection—between people, nature, and the emotions that unite us. Each painting serves as an invitation to pause, reflect, and appreciate the profound beauty that surrounds us in everyday life.
